Preeto adapts swiftly to rider demands with the P110 performance model

In the fast-paced world of e-bikes, Preeto stands out by listening closely to its customers. Originally launched for rugged cargobikes, the P110 mid-drive motor evolved into a performance powerhouse. Customers craved more power amid the rising demand for potent engines in sportive e-MTBs and e-SUVs. This article showcases the Chinese brand's commitment to customer-driven innovation under Zhaowei.

Preeto, a subsidiary of China's Shenzhen Zhaowei Machinery & Electronics, which was founded 25 years ago and boasts over 600 R&D engineers, specialises in high-performance mid-drive motors. With its European headquarters in Germany, the company targets all categories of bikes with their mid-motor range from P60, P90 and P110.

"In a competitive and ever-evolving e-bike market, we value our customers and riders' feedback, as well as their wishes for a great riding experience," said Jürgen Ludwig, managing director of Preeto Europe. Preeto, he says, encourages client engagement to tailor solutions to the demands of their customers, and this is what sets the brand and its team apart.

Controllable instead of raw power

The P110 platform started as a reliable "power core" for cargobikes, designed for sustained power and long-distance reliability with heavy loads. Customers like its durability but pushed for adaptation as e-MTB bike trends toward more power.

Sportive e-MTB applications require more control, modulation, and efficiency than raw output. Unlike cargo-oriented setups, the P110 Performance focuses on precise torque modulation, fast yet smooth ramp-up, and traction-optimised power delivery, enabling confidence and more safety on steep, fluctuating technical climbs and challenging trails.

Optimised for cadences between 60 and 120 rpm, the system supports dynamic riding styles while maintaining high efficiency across varying load conditions. Extensive software customisation via the Preeto app allows OEMs and riders to fine-tune assistance levels, torque curves, and riding modes, including low-power settings for extended range management getting home safe on long rides. It also comes with a new ‘auto’ mode.

The result is a highly adaptable drive solution that combines improved trail riding control, energy efficiency, and smooth premium ride quality, positioning the P110 Performance as a compelling platform for performance-oriented e-MTB concepts. /

Key specifications of the P110 Performance

  • Torque: 110 Nm for tackling steep climbs and heavy payloads.
  • Power: 750W peak (36V/750W or 48V/1000W systems), with a rated 250W output.
  • Weight: Ultra-light 2.75 kg, balancing power without bulk.
  • Cadence and speed: Handles 120 RPM max and 25 km/h.
  • Q-Factor: 190 mm (axle width 154 mm, ISIS standard).
  • Customisation: Crank lengths from 152-170 mm; chainrings 34-42 teeth.
  • Dimensions: Compact 220 x 126 x 154 mm for seamless integration.

P110: Cargo power meets MTB precision

"Customers approached us requesting a more performance-oriented version of that model," Ludwig explained. “So, we developed a more dynamic e-MTB software for the Preeto P110 mid-drive motor.”

Taking direct customer feedback, the team refined it into the P110 Performance model, proving their strength and flexibility in adapting quickly to market demands. With 110 Nm of torque and 750 W peak power, adventures through rough, technical trails becomes easier to manage and controllable under critical situations. You always have enough power with smooth engagement to get out safe. And at 2.75 kg, the lightweight Preeto system delivers a natural, balanced ride and seamless handling, no matter how technical the trail or how high the mountain.

"The Preeto P110 is a very flexible and powerful platform that can cover a wide range of bikes and riding styles," said Ludwig. "Designed for bigger loads and bigger bikes like e-cargo, our P110 motor provides 110 Nm of controllable, high-torque output, moving heavy loads reliably with durability you can trust for long-distance transportation."

This quick pivot – from cargo to performance – reinforces the company’s passion for customer solutions.

Transparency and quality at the core

Preeto backs its claims with openness. "We're proud of our team and the quality work they do, so we invite customers and partners to visit our factory in China," Ludwig notes. The facility features a dedicated R&D and test area where projects kick off with clients long before production. Every drive system undergoes rigorous quality controls to meet international standards for performance and durability.

"Our philosophy – quality as the foundation and transparency as the result – builds trust and ensure innovations like the P110 aren't just specs on paper but are tested for real-world demands.  Preeto's edge lies in its customer-centric agility, proactively operating a skilled and determined workforce and constant improvement through feedback loops. The P110 Performance model exemplifies this: born from cargo roots, now thriving in high-power e-MTB applications as well. Riders get a motor that's versatile, reliable, and tailored."
